Why/do you see asking the Lord to go back in time to pray these blessings in the womb for my son as more beneficial than praying these blessings over him currently in our home at the age he is now?

Question: After reading the story of Suzanne and Dan in your book Pure Joy, I noticed how you said that they asked God if they could go back in time with Him to bless and nurture their daughter through the womb. I was wondering why/if you see that as more beneficial than praying these blessings over my son currently in our home at the age he is now?

Answer: First, well done on your investing in your children’s spirits at the earliest possible time!

To start answering your question, it depends on the individual situation if it is more beneficial to pray privately the blessings and ask Father to apply them to our children from the womb – or to currently speak the blessings to them at the age they are now.

Crucial Impact Early Investment to “Start Well” Makes

I will say this.

Our spirits are meant to inhabit every part of our soul and body, and be in union with Father by the blood covenant of the Lord Jesus Christ, led by His Holy Spirit. The truth (or lies we thought were true) affects every part of our triune being. The truth (or lies we thought were true) which are received and agreed with from the earliest possible time in our lives impact us the most — from the subconscious, spirit realm. Many secular counselors and those in health fields recognize ACEs (Adverse Childhood Trauma) as being the root of health or relationship trouble, and even precursor markers to premature death. These ACEs are traumatic (or overwhelming) events or moments that “changed” the child and set them in some degree of a negative state — early on.

Impressed and Led by Holy Spirit

Regarding the story which sparked your question, portions of a story or Scripture are impressed in our hearts. Holy Spirit works like that. Often, we feel compelled to follow through exactly as they did, like we would with a recipe, in order to receive the same results. However, with Holy Spirit, once He impresses the story or a portion thereof, He intends to lead us. I say this from experience — having learned from “trying to follow the recipe” and being frustrated to recognizing that Holy Spirit highlighted a portion of someone else’s story with the intent to lead me in my story, but not in a “recipe” style way.

In Pure Joy (no longer in print), Dan and Suzanne were impressed to ask the Lord to use a strategy of blessing through the womb, and if it could be applied retroactively in the Lord. He said “Yes!” They did, and their adult daughter’s life turned around.

No Time Restriction in the Lord

The reason I included their story in the book is because I wanted people to recognize that the Lord allows, and wants, us to pray back in time (or forward in time), as the need requires. This is based on the truth that “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and forever,” (KJV, Hebrews 13:8). He’s also the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and end (KJV, Revelation1:8). He’s the one who holds all things together with His word (NASB, Hebrews 1:3). Since He authored our story of faith and we stand in the middle of our story, we can pray for the beginning and end which are also in Him (NASB, Hebrews 12:2).

Private Place of Prayer for Parents

After prayer and reflection, together with the sense you described, I believe that a strategy for prayer, even back to the womb, needs to be applied. However, this strategy is not necessarily only the application of the same blessings you’ve already sowed into his life.

I do recommend parents praying in a private place of prayer for their children for many reason, some of which are: 1. it allows the Lord to lead rather than nonverbal communication from family, etc. 2. families to avoid the wiggles 3. it can include warfare aspects and 4. often requires levels of faith that not all members of the family possess.

Every human exists from the love and light of Father which are their life in Jesus (1 John 4:8; 1 John 1:5; John 1:4). Once placed in their mother’s womb, some of what their pure God-given spirits are intertwined with include: 1. original sin (Adam’s fall) 2. their own thought processes which include vows, agreements with lies and Father’s ancient enemy, and judgments 3. bloodline (generational) iniquity and 4. corruption from environment, such as mother’s inner trauma and a toxic physical and/or spiritual environment.

It’s optimal to start Scripture, worship and anointed blessings as early as possible in order to nourish and strengthen their spirit which is being knit into their body and is designed by Father to lead their being in relationship with Him. It is from these deep, early places that the spirit and subconscious draw for their ensuing life. Take heart, though, because if there was early brokenness, it can be redeemed, thank God! Because of due order of physical development, their soul is not operative till age two.

I recommend parents, be that mother or father or both, to establish an altar — dedicated place of prayer and communication in their home — to your Heavenly Father. In your private place of prayer, I would ask Father to apply the joy blessings you faithfully invested into your son (and children) to their spirits, starting from the womb, and set His seal on those blessings, and rearguard that truth and love with His glory.

Essential Points to Address in Prayer

Inner vows are a staple of humanity, and start early in life. They are a huge part of the programming that run the computer of our unconscious perception and existence. Please see this post for more information and a prayer strategy on that topic.

Agreements are usually hand-in-glove with inner vows. They are a joining to another entity, such as your spiritual advisor described with the warring spirits. A huge issue of agreement comes in the form of familiar spirits which come down family bloodlines and “speak familiarly” to the person in the current generation, and it is perceived as “true,” so they agree. That agreement is legally binding. It binds the one who agreed to another human spirit, to a dark spirit, to a fallen or corrupt thinking, whatever it happens to be. However, it is legally broken through repentance, breaking that agreement, and application of the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Also there are judgments. Judgments are usually not so obvious, but they are extremely harmful as they bring measures of Heaven court rulings against the one who judged (Matthew 7:1-2). This puts us in a dangerous place on the opposite side of the Lord with His mercy and grace.

Powerful Experience of Transformation in Child

Several years ago, as the Lord taught me about the priesthood, I prayed nightly for a year, asking forgiveness for bitterness. Daily Cleanser is a great resource to apply daily, or weekly, and releases you and your family from the rotten root of bitterness and unforgiveness. After that time, the Lord prompted me to do something I had no experience with. My son experienced frustration to the point of anger that erupted often. We were stuck in a negative cycle. That day, the Lord moved me to employ the power He entrusted to His disciples then, and to us, who are His disciples now. I had been repenting for the sin of myself and my family daily. On the spot, He stirred me to decree (speak with conviction): “Your sins are forgiven and your debts are released,” (John 20:23). I spoke it. To my surprise, in about five minutes, my son bounced back into my space with a positive outlook. It was as if he’d been washed, renewed, and transformed. He had been! By the Lord as I released him! As I said, we’d been stuck in a negative cycle, therefore, to bounce back to a healthy, positive place so quickly was unheard of. I do add that my son’s spirit had been nurtured from the womb, and that he has relationship with the Lord.

Here is an encouraging story. A woman who stood pretty much alone with Heavenly Father for the restoration of her family after much generational brokenness received outstanding fruit. She began implementing the priesthood in her home by: 1. dedicating a private place of prayer and communion (altar) 2. daily repentance for herself and her family 3. blessing and praying for her family 4. communion with Father. In three months, she saw good, sizable change. She saw a hefty increase of good change in six months, and her family has progressively turned around and grown in the Lord since then. This was previously impossible. After she’d been walking in the priesthood with the Lord for her family for eight months, her son erupted in anger and antagonism one evening when she was extremely fatigued. Dragging herself to the altar, she prayed repentance for that cycle, and decreed his sins were forgiven and his debts released. In ten minutes, he came back to her room and apologized! Glory to God!

A wonderful resource to greatly assist in this process is Daily Cleanser.

You are a Royal Priesthood

You have the right as a priest to pray to bring reconciliation between your children and God, and also between your children and others (Jesus reinstated the priesthood for believers which Father intended from early times, Exodus 19:6; 1 Peter 2:9; Revelation 1:6).

That’s where I would recommend to start. At your private place of prayer. Receiving the priesthood from Jesus and in Him with Father for yourself and your family. Asking that the joy blessings be applied to your son from conception. Praying repentance (always start with yourself first—in some degree, we’ve sinned as they have. If we repent and cleanse ourselves first, then everyone is cleansed! Otherwise, their sins stick to us). Pray repentance (confess, renounce, release to the Cross) the root of bitterness; wrongly made, according to Father’s design, vows, agreements with lies — including with Father’s ancient enemy, the flesh, the world, and any familiar spirits; and judgments. When you’ve repented for yourself and your son (your family, as led), receive the washing of the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ and His new life for you each. Taking communion is excellent and effective. Decree that their sins are forgiven and their debts are released. Ask the Father to set His seal on this work (so these boundary stones in the spirit are not moved) and that He rearguard and seal this work with His glory in the mighty name of the Lord Jesus Christ, amen.

Please note that this will be a progressive prayer time of reconciliation—and it is literally rebuilding your family. It cannot happen all in one day. It’s too much to physically handle in one day. You just start and allow the Holy Spirit to nudge you on which aspect needs to be addressed in prayer that day. As the repentance starts to lift unsavory things you didn’t even realize were there off your family, keep on building by listening to Scripture and the blessings.

Build Your Family’s Spirit Health

Just like a garden, the best defense against pests is the health of the plant. Health defends plants against pest intruders. We want to build and protect spirit health. Spirit health is built through tearing down (repentance) and building up (communicating love, hearing the Word, hearing blessings, to name a few).
